Artwork & Copyright Policy
Patch designs often contain logos, coats of arms, trademarks, service identifiers and personal information. This policy explains the permissions we expect and how the artwork is handled during an order.
What may I upload?
You can send original sketches, logos, colour references, design briefs and other materials that you own or are authorised to use. By submitting artwork for a quote or order, you confirm that you have the rights or permissions reasonably necessary for us to create the requested patches.
What if the design includes a police crest or badge?
Some insignia are controlled by the force or body to which they belong. We can ask you for written approval from the relevant rights holder or an authorised order contact. Our separate Police Insignia & Order Verification Policy explains when official design checks are required.
Who owns the customer’s design?
Submitting an existing design does not transfer its copyright or trademark rights to us. You retain whatever rights you lawfully hold. You permit us and approved production suppliers to copy, adapt for manufacturing, digitise and use the submitted materials only for the purpose of the enquiry, order and agreed after-sales support, unless an additional use is expressly authorised.
What about artwork created or redrawn by us?
Artwork preparation and digital proofs may involve technical redraws or embroidery digitising. The inclusion of this work in the quoted patch price does not automatically mean a customer receives separate source-file ownership or a licence to use our production-ready files outside the order. Any separate source-file handover or intellectual-property assignment should be agreed in writing, with the scope and fee (if any) stated.
Where bespoke original artwork is specifically commissioned, the quotation should explain what rights are included so neither party is left uncertain.
Can we display your patch on our website?
We will seek appropriate permission before publicly displaying a customer’s confidential design or a patch bearing operational force insignia. General public portfolio use, photographs and testimonials should not suggest an endorsement or customer relationship that has not been authorised.
If another rights holder objects
If we receive a credible allegation that submitted artwork is unauthorised, we may pause the project, seek evidence of permission and assess whether we must stop further production. Send complaints with details of the relevant design and your rights to [email protected]. We will review reasonable takedown or non-production requests.
Recordkeeping and privacy
Order artwork and proofs may be retained where reasonably needed for fulfilment, reorders, disputes or compliance. Personal information contained in artwork or correspondence is handled under our Privacy Policy. Last updated: 11-Oct-2026.
